Elafonisi shows up on all the big platforms. Booking the day straight with us is a little different.
You book with the Chania team that runs the Elafonisi coaches itself, not a platform passing the day on.
A local team on the phone, WhatsApp and Viber daily from 08:00 to 22:00, before you travel and on the day.
Pick-up is set around your hotel across Chania town and the west-coast resorts.
The from-price is ours, with no third-party booking fee added on top.
If the weather or the road to Elafonisi forces a change, you move to another date or take a full refund.
Elafonisi is a protected nature reserve on the south-west coast of Crete, famous for the pink tint of its sand and a shallow lagoon you can wade across to a small islet. The water is warm and calm, perfect for children, and the dunes behind the beach are a rare protected habitat.
It is a longer drive from the main resorts, so most people make a full day of it. There are a few seasonal canteens and sunbeds, but the beach stays wild and low-key, so bring water, sun protection and time to relax. It sits within easy reach of Chania, Balos and Falassarna, with more to explore across the rest of Crete.
Elafonisi is a summer beach, warmest and calmest from June to September, with a long shoulder season either side.

Elafonisi lies on the south-west corner of Crete, an easy day trip by road or on an organised excursion.
Organised excursions run from Chania and the west-coast resorts, with hotel pick-up and time to swim and relax.
The drive from Chania takes around ninety minutes through the mountains, with a large car park by the beach.
Elafonisi is remote in the south-west, so most people day-trip in or base in Paleochora or Chania.
The nearest resort town on the south coast, laid-back with its own beaches.
A handy west-coast base to the north, near Balos too.
The Venetian harbour town, best for a lively base with day trips out.
Quiet villages along the south-west coast for a slow, off-grid stay.
The far south-west is monasteries, gorges and empty coast around the pink lagoon.
A white clifftop monastery just above Elafonisi, with sweeping sea views.
A relaxed south-coast town with a Venetian castle and long beaches.
Wild ravines running down to the Libyan Sea, for walkers and drivers.
A quiet cedar-backed beach next to Elafonisi, reached on foot.
Food in the south-west is simple and local, built on olive oil, greens, cheese and honey, with fish along the coast.
Try dakos and graviera, slow-cooked lamb and fresh fish in Paleochora, and finish with a glass of raki.
Book every part of your trip with one local team: flights, ferries, transfers, a car and your hotel.
Other stand-out spots worth adding to your Crete trip.
Elafonisi is an easy full day from Chania. Here is how to plan it.
The pink tint comes from crushed shells and coral mixed into the white sand, strongest in patches near the water. Please don't take sand, as the beach is protected.
Very, the lagoon is shallow and calm. Bring shade, as natural cover is limited and it gets busy in high summer.
It's around 1.5 hours from Chania and longer from central Crete, so trips run as a full day with an early-ish start.
There are seasonal canteens and some sunbeds, but it stays fairly wild, bring water, snacks and sun protection to be safe.
If we cancel a departure for weather or safety, you are offered another date or a full refund, always explained up front.
The trip allows several hours at the beach, enough to cross to the islet at low water, swim in the shallow lagoon and have lunch before the drive back.
In July and August it fills up by midday. Going with an organised trip means you arrive before the worst of the crowds and beat the afternoon car queues.
